BMD issues signal 1 for ports

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a weather warning forecasting temporary squally winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour over eight regions across the country by 1:00 PM today (Friday, September 25).
Inland river ports in the affected areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
According to the weather alert issued for inland river ports valid from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM today, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or south-east at speeds of 45 to 60 km per hour are likely over Kushtia, Faridpur, Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, and Cumilla regions.
Consequently, river ports in these eight districts have been instructed to display cautionary signal number 1.
