PM meets Antonio Guterres at UN HQ

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a bilateral meeting with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on Thursday at the UN Headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the ongoing 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The meeting took place on the 27th floor of the UN Secretariat Building. The two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation between Bangladesh and the United Nations, alongside addressing critical regional and global matters of mutual concern.
Key topics covered during the meeting included Bangladesh's national development trajectory, climate change mitigation efforts, a sustainable resolution to the Rohingya crisis, and Bangladesh's continued contributions to global UN peacekeeping operations and development initiatives.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman highlighted Bangladesh's core priorities and stressed the importance of continued UN support, while reiterating the nation's firm commitment to multilateralism, international cooperation, and sustainable development.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized the necessity of furthering the longstanding partnership between Bangladesh and the United Nations, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to collaborative action on shared global challenges.
