Bus fares on long-distance routes between Dhaka and various districts have been revised following the increase in fuel prices, with the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) publishing a new fare chart, on Thursday (September 24).

Under the revised structure, the fare for long-distance buses has increased from Tk 2.23 to Tk 2.40 per kilometre. The fare for buses and minibuses operating within Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas has also risen from Tk 2.53 to Tk 2.70 per kilometre.

The new BRTA fare structure sets separate rates for 51-seat and 40-seat buses. Applicable tolls for bridges, ferries, expressways and flyovers have also been added to the basic fare on relevant routes.

For buses using the Gulistan-Jatrabari flyover, a toll of Tk 7 per passenger has been added for 51-seat buses and Tk 9 for 40-seat buses.

According to the revised fare chart, the new fares from Sayedabad Bus Terminal include:

Barishal: Tk 493 for a 51-seat bus and Tk 629 for a 40-seat bus

Patuakhali: Tk 605 and Tk 772 respectively

Barguna: Tk 717 and Tk 914 respectively

Sylhet: Tk 624 and Tk 796 respectively

Kuakata: Tk 781 and Tk 996 respectively

Jokiganj: Tk 848 and Tk 1,081 respectively

The revised fares include applicable tolls on routes where bridges, ferries, expressways or flyovers are used.
