New Zealand name seven pacers for T20I series against India

New Zealand have announced a 16-member squad for their five-match T20I series against India next month, with seven pace bowlers included in the team.
Mitchell Santner will lead the side, while pacer Adam Milne returns after recovering from injury. Rachin Ravindra, however, has been ruled out after sustaining an injury while shooting for a promotional campaign. He is expected to need around six weeks to recover and could return for the ODI series.
Thirteen members of New Zealand’s squad that finished runners-up to India at this year’s T20 World Cup have been retained. Michael Bracewell and Milne, who missed the tournament, have also been included.
The pace attack features Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Jacob Duffy, Jack Foulkes, Nathan Smith and Milne. Ben Sears misses out due to an ankle injury.
Finn Allen and Tim Seifert, who impressed as New Zealand’s opening pair at the World Cup, are also in the squad. Allen hit a 33-ball century in the semifinal, while Seifert was named the player of the tournament in England’s Hundred, where his team also won the title.
The five T20Is will be played across four cities over 11 days. New Zealand head coach Rob Walter said his side were looking forward to hosting India, describing them as a strong and challenging opponent.
More than 76,000 tickets for the series have already been sold, with all four venues expected to be packed.
