Death threat to Col Oli on Facebook, GD filed

The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has filed a general diary (GD) at Ramna Police Station following a public threat issued against party President Colonel (Retd) Oli Ahmed Bir Bikram on Facebook.
LDP Acting Secretary General Md Billal Hossain Miyaji lodged the complaint on Tuesday (September 23) regarding a post uploaded by a Facebook user named Ripon Gazi.
According to the complaint, party leaders learned of the online threat on September 21 while at their central office in Gulfesha Plaza in Ramna.
The Facebook post contained hostile language threatening physical harm and dire consequences against the veteran politician, freedom fighter, and former minister.
In the GD, the party expressed serious concern for Colonel Oli's safety and requested law enforcement authorities to record the incident for future legal action and necessary security measures. Police confirmed receipt of the complaint and stated that steps are being taken to trace the social media account.
