Missing child found dead after two days in Brahmanbaria

Police recovered the body of a seven-year-old girl from bushes beside a pond in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Monday (September 21), two days after she went missing.

The deceased was identified as Mim, daughter of Mizan Mia of Bidyakut Barabari area. She was a student of a local Noorani madrasa.

According to police and the family, Mim went missing on Saturday (September 19) morning after leaving home. Her family searched for her in different places and later filed a general diary (GD) with Nabinagar Police Station.

On Monday afternoon, locals spotted her body lying in bushes beside a pond in the Bidyakut Barabari area and informed police. Officers recovered the body and sent it to Brahmanbaria General Hospital for autopsy.

Nabinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Morshedul Alam Chowdhury said the cause of death could not immediately be determined. The matter is under investigation, and the exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report.
