9 Bangladeshis arrested in online scam crackdown in Cambodia

Nine Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh for their alleged involvement in online scam activities.

The arrests were made on September 19 during a crackdown on foreign nationals involved in suspected illegal activities, according to Cambodian authorities.

Police raided a house on Street 02B in Moual village of Dangkor commune in Dangkor district, Phnom Penh, after suspecting that online scam operations were being conducted there.

During the raid, law enforcement officials seized six all-in-one computers, 15 mobile phones and several counterfeit US dollar notes.

The nine Bangladeshi nationals and the seized evidence were handed over to the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Commissariat for further investigation and legal action.

Authorities later forwarded the case to the prosecutor at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for further legal proceedings.
