Army Chief returns home ending Japan tour

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman returned home on Sunday night after completing a four-day visit to Japan.

During the visit, he attended the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The Army chief also held a bilateral meeting with Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

He also participated in discussions with the presidents of Olympic associations from various countries.

The high-level exchanges are expected to contribute to the overall development of Bangladesh’s sports sector, strengthen international cooperation and further consolidate the country’s participation in the global sporting arena.
