The deceased was identified as Sanjida Akter, daughter of Shahjahan Howlader of Kotwali area in Barishal. She had been living in a rented house in the Atour Market area of Ambagh and working at a garment factory.

Sanjida collapsed on the ground following the attack. Local residents rescued her and were taking her to hospital in critical condition when she died on the way.

Police later recovered her body and sent it to the morgue of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
