Banani Women’s Club holds new members’ introduction ceremony

Banani Women’s Club organised a grand luncheon and introduction ceremony to welcome its Executive Committee (EC) members and new members. The gathering was held on September 12 at Six Seasons Hotel in the capital.

All members of the club attended the programme, which was organised and conducted under the overall supervision of Club President Aklima Rahman, Secretary Fahmida Sinha Palash, Executive Committee member Mrs Nazma Masud and other EC members. Renowned television drama and film director Chayanika Chowdhury also graced the occasion as a special guest, adding further charm to the event.

The programme began with a warm welcome for the EC committee and new members, followed by an exchange of greetings and pleasantries. The occasion reflected a shared commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship, goodwill and solidarity among the club’s members. Later, a delightful cultural programme was presented with the participation of club members. A lively performance by popular singer Akhi Alamgir added a special dimension to the celebration.

Speaking at the programme, the club’s newly appointed Joint Secretary, Nazma Masud, outlined the organisation’s future plans to promote women’s self-reliance and support underprivileged children.

“We believe that every woman has an entrepreneur within her. What she needs is proper guidance and sincere training. Through training in sewing, handicrafts and small businesses, we will stand beside underprivileged and disadvantaged women at every step,” she said.

She further added, “Bringing smiles to the faces of underprivileged children is one of our major commitments. The club is determined to stand beside children who are unable to continue their education due to financial hardship, as well as those who do not have adequate warm clothing to protect them during the winter.”
