Financial aid for students seriously injured in accidents

Poor and meritorious students from Class 6 to undergraduate or equivalent levels who are seriously injured in accidents will receive one-time medical grants from the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust.

Eligible students can apply online for the September-October 2026 period until 11:59 PM on October 31 through the trust’s e-Medical Grant Management System.

The information was announced in a notice issued by the trust’s stipend branch on September 16.

Under the guidelines, students must have received treatment for serious injuries from an accident during the current fiscal year or the previous year. Each student can apply for the grant only once.

Applicants must have secured at least 60 percent marks in their previous class. They must also provide proof of a minimum GPA of 3.50 at SSC/HSC or equivalent level and 3.00 at undergraduate or equivalent level.

The applicant’s family must have an annual income of less than Tk 2 lakh. Documents proving poverty and serious injury, along with birth registration, parents’ NID copies, photo, signature and bank account details, must be uploaded.

The entire application process will be online, and no hard copy is required. Applicants must provide an active bank account belonging to themselves or their parents. In special cases, the account of a guardian on whom the student is fully dependent may be accepted.
