Bhutanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Dasho Karma Hamu Dorji met Foreign Affairs State Minister Humayun Kabir at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest. Humayun Kabir expressed Bangladesh’s interest in contributing to the development of Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), particularly by providing skilled, semi-skilled and professional workers.
Recalling the vision of former president Ziaur Rahman, the state minister also sought Bhutan’s support for reviving SAARC in the common interest of the region and its people.
The Bhutanese ambassador thanked Bangladesh for the warm welcome given to the King of Bhutan during his brief transit at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on August 26, in the presence of the Bangladesh president.
She also thanked the Foreign Ministry for its support during her tenure.
