PM meets families of Army personnel killed in tank-firing accident

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has met the families of two army personnel, who were killed in a shell explosion during a tank-firing exercise at the Hathazari Field Firing Range in Chattogram, assuring them that the government and the armed forces would stand by them.

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon on Tuesday morning.

During the meeting, the prime minister spoke with the family members and expressed his condolences over the deaths.

He also handed over cheques providing financial assistance to the bereaved families.

The Prime Minister said the two soldiers had sacrificed their lives while performing their duties for the country and that the nation would remember their sacrifice with deep respect.

''We are with you at this time of grief and will remain by your side.''

He added, ''The government and the army will always stand beside your families. Along with providing necessary assistance, the government will also take responsibility for ensuring the welfare of the families of the fallen soldiers.''
