The Bangladesh Students’ Federation has put up a photo at the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) museum showing Ghulam Azam being beaten with shoes.

The photo, taken in the 1980s, shows angry people hitting Ghulam Azam with shoes in the Baitul Mukarram area.

The move comes after a photo of Muhammad Ali Jinnah was displayed at the DUCSU museum, sparking controversy. There were also concerns that photos of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other Liberation War-related images might be removed.

The Bangladesh Chhatra Dal condemned the move and gave the university administration an ultimatum to remove Jinnah’s photo and take action against DUCSU.

Meanwhile, former Dhaka University student Tayeb Haldar entered the museum around 2 PM on Monday (September 14) and tore down Jinnah’s photo.
