Mother-daughter die in road accident

A fatal road accident took lives of a mother and her 11-month-old daughter in Birampur of Dinajpur.

Deceased were identified as Rumi Akter and Maria Mahrin, 11-month-old daughter. The accident took place on Tuesday (September 8) afternoon.

According to local sources, when Rumi Akter came in front of the town’s Janata Bank, an auto-rickshaw hit her motorcycle from behind. The impact made mother Rumi and daughter Maria fly away from the motorcycle.

Rumi died on spot. Critically injured Maria was taken to the hospital, where she died at around 7:45 PM.

Her husband has come back from abroad recently and they were going to attend an invite.

Other members of their family have also been injured in the road accident.

Birampur Thana Police in-Charge (OC) has confirmed the matter and said, accidents do not come with warning.

Postmortem reports have been made and injured family members were sent to M Abdur Rahim Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
