UN secretary-general meets Khalilur Rahman

Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, has held a meeting with Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman of Bangladesh before the start of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

This discussion was held in New York, wherein Rahman has been preparing for his tenure as the President of the 81st UNGA session.

On Monday (September 7), Bangladesh’s Permanent Mission to the UN conveyed their heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Rahman for becoming President of the 81st UNGA.

Rahman will be taking over the position on Tuesday (September 8) when he is going to preside over the 81st UNGA session at 3:00 PM at UN Headquarters in New York.

He will be replacing former German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock from the post.
