Internet's favorite Golden Retriever Tucker Budzyn dies at 8

In a quiet, tearful video shared across his official social media channels, Courtney Budzyn announced the heartbreaking passing of her eight-year-old Golden Retriever, Tucker, leaving tens of millions of grieving followers around the world in deep sorrow.

Clutching a small wooden urn to her chest, Courtney delivered the news fans dreaded most: Tucker passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday (September 2) following a sudden and cruel turn in his fight against lymphoma.

Though chemotherapy treatments were successfully forcing the cancer into remission, an undetected tumor in his intestinal wall dissolved, leaving a perforation that triggered a rapid, fatal infection overnight.

"I thought that was the last sad video I was gonna make, but it's not... Tucker's gone," Courtney sobbed in the video posted to Instagram and YouTube. She recounted how emergency veterinarians administered fluids and antibiotics, but as Tucker’s fever continued to spike unabated, his body grew too weak to carry on.

"There's nothing in this world that I wouldn't have done for him. He was literally part of me. He was part of my soul. It feels like I lost a body part." 

Courtney shared that Tucker's final three weeks were spent doing everything he loved - leaping into pools, wrestling with his son Todd, rolling in the grass, and enjoying chicken treats every morning and night.

Addressing his 27 million heartbroken followers across social platforms, Courtney expressed gratitude for the love shown to her soulmate: "I know he was yours, too."
