Yamal scores twice as Barca thrashes Valencia

Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the La Liga season with a dominant 5-0 victory over Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium, powered by a double from Lamine Yamal.

Hansi Flick's side secured their fourth consecutive win in four league matches, expanding their lead at the top of the table following Real Madrid's defeat on Friday.

Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute, capitalizing on a pass from Fermín López to flick the ball into the net.

The Spanish international had a second goal ruled out for offside two minutes later.

López doubled Barcelona's lead in the 22nd minute, placing a low shot into the bottom corner following an assist from Anthony Gordon.

Raphinha extended the margin early in the second half, finishing from close range in the 49th minute following a combined buildup between Yamal and López.

Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski made several critical saves to prevent further damage, while Rodri hit the crossbar with a header.

Pedri scored Barcelona's fourth goal 11 minutes from time off an assist from Dani Olmo.

Yamal sealed the 5-0 victory five minutes later, converting another setup from Olmo to complete his brace.

Barcelona remain top of La Liga with 12 points from four matches, having scored 17 goals across their opening fixtures. Valencia sit at the bottom of the table with one point from four games.
