President in Thakurgaon

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has reached his home district Thakurgaon for a two-day visit.

The helicopter, carrying him, landed at the Shahid Mohammad Ali Stadium ground at about 12:58PM on Sunday.

Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam, Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rafiqul Huq, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Rangpur Range) Mohammad Abdul Mabud, Superintendent of Police Md Belal Hossain, Thakurgaon district BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin and General Secretary Paigam Ali welcomed the President at the helipad.

Convener of the Citizens’ Committee Dr Abu Mohammad Khairul Kabir and Secretary General Dr Shahiduzzaman were also present.

Later, a contingent of Bangladesh Police presented a guard of honour to the President at Thakurgaon Circuit House.

After inspecting the guard of honour, Mirza Fakhrul is scheduled to go to Senua graveyard to pay respects to his parents.

Later, he will visit his residence in Thakurgaon town.
