Dengue claims life of Barguna MP’s mother-in-law

The mother-in-law of Barguna-1 MP and Islami Andolon Bangladesh district president of Barguna Mahmudul Hossain Oliullah died due to dengue at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhaka.

The deceased was identified as Shahanaz Begum, 60. The MP confirmed her death around 10pm on Friday (September 4).

She had caught fever a few days back and got well after some treatment. But her health declined again and was taken to the hospital on Thursday (September 3) morning. Dengue was confirmed through tests, and she died there around midnight of the same day.

As per health authorities, 969 people have been admitted to hospitals suffering from dengue fever in Barguna district this year, among which 902 were cured. Last year, about 10,000 people had become infected with dengue, out of which 68 died.
