Bangladesh will begin a fitness and skills camp in Mirpur on September 10 ahead of their upcoming series against Afghanistan.

The national team returned home after completing a two-match Test series against Australia. The players will get a short break before returning to training next week.

With India’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh now unlikely to take place, the camp will focus on fitness and skills development for national team players and those in contention for selection.

The camp will begin with fitness sessions before moving on to skills training at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. As the foreign coaching staff will be on leave, local coaches will oversee the camp.

Bangladesh are scheduled to face Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates in early October. The tour is expected to feature one Test and a tri-nation ODI series involving Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has yet to announce the dates of the matches.
