Youth’s body found by lake in Narayanganj

The body of Tapan Shil, 40, years was recovered near the bank of the DND Lake at Paglabari Mor in the Pool area of Siddhirganj of Narayanganj District on Thursday morning (September 3).

Tapan used to live in the Mizmizi Alamin Nagar area of Siddhirganj and worked in a salon in that area. His native place is Sitakunda in Chattogram.

As per locals, the body of Tapan was seen lying on the western side of the lake by a man who went out for an early morning walk. Then he reported it to the police. Subsequently, police from Siddhirganj police station came to the spot, recovered the body and took it to their police station.

According to locals, Tapan had a fight with his wife on Wednesday night due to a family issue and since then, he was not seen anywhere. But no details about how exactly he died could be found out.

Siddhirganj Police Station OC Md Emdadul Haque said that the dead body was brought to the police station and his wife had been informed about this. This dead body will now be shifted to Narayanganj Hospital for the post-mortem test. The actual cause of death will only be known from the report of post-mortem test.

Police have begun their investigation into the case.
