A massive, colorful rally was held in Araihazar upazila headquarters of Narayanganj on Tuesday afternoon to mark the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Leaders and activists from ten unions and two municipalities of the upazila participated in the rally led by Narayanganj-2 (Araihazar) MP Nazrul Islam Azad.
Participants in the rally chanted slogans honoring BNP founder, late President Ziaur Rahman, late Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, and current Narayanganj-2 MP Nazrul Islam Azad. The rally paraded through various roads of Araihazar municipal town.
Speaking at a brief street rally following the parade, MP Nazrul Islam Azad said the people of Araihazar at all levels remain united under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He noted that the people of Araihazar took to the streets in every past crisis at his call.
He added that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman wants to build a progressive, prosperous Bangladesh involving people from all walks of life, and Araihazar will play its role in building that nation.
He pledged to work alongside the residents to gift a prosperous Araihazar to the Prime Minister.
