MPO teachers to get salary under new pay scale: Education Minister

MPO-enlisted teachers and employees of non-government educational institutes will be included in the new pay scale and receive salaries accordingly, said Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon.

He shared this information in a post on his verified Facebook page around 4:45 PM on Tuesday. He wrote in the post, "MPO-enlisted teachers and employees will also be paid under the new salary structure."

Earlier on Monday afternoon, the Cabinet approved the 'National Pay Scale 2026'. Following the Cabinet meeting, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani briefed reporters in the evening.

When asked whether MPO-enlisted teachers and employees would be included in the new pay scale, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani said no decision had been made on the matter yet.

The statement sparked immediate resentment among the MPO Education Nationalization Expectant Alliance, an organization representing over 6.25 lakh MPO-enlisted teachers and staff across the country.

The organization demanded a gazette notification including MPO teachers and employees in the pay scale.
