Two motorcyclists were killed after a fish-laden pickup van hit their motorcycle on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Lohagara upazila early today.
The deceased were identified as Firoz Ahmed, alias Touhid, 23, and Mahi Patowary, 24, both residents of Kachua upazila in Chandpur, police said.

The accident occurred around 5:30 AM in the Sayerpara area on the southern bank of Thakur Dighi in Padua union.
Sala Uddin Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Dohazari Highway Police Station, said the accident occurred when the Cox’s Bazar-bound pickup van collided with the motorcycle from the opposite direction, leaving Firoz dead on the spot.
Mentioning that a highway police patrol team was near the accident site when the crash occurred, the OC said they recovered Firoz's body from the spot and rushed Mahi to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
The damaged pickup van and motorcycle have been seized, but the pickup driver fled the scene, the OC added.
Nurul Alam, in-charge of the CMCH police outpost, confirmed Mahi's death at the hospital and said both bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue.
