Depositors of merged Islami bank to receive Their money from september 7.Individual account holders of merged Islami bank will begin receiving their principal deposits.

Initially, customers will be allowed to withdraw or encash the full amount of their deposited principal in a single transaction. They will not receive any profit on the amount at this stage. Branches of the bank will begin accepting applications for this purpose from Tuesday.

In a special circular issued by the bank’s head office, all divisional heads, zonal heads, and branch managers were instructed to make the necessary preparations and follow the relevant guidelines. The directive was signed by A.F. Sabbir Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Coordinator of Operations of the bank.

According to a decision announced by Bangladesh Bank, normal individual banking transactions are scheduled to resume from September 1.

However, a few days are needed to complete preparations, including submitting cash requisitions from branches and sub-branches, ensuring the supply of cash from Bangladesh Bank, and establishing secure cash-management arrangements. Therefore, the bank has decided to begin fully repaying depositors’ principal amounts from September 7.

The directive states that customers will be able to withdraw their deposited principal from Al-Wadiah current accounts, Mudaraba savings accounts, and various term-based accounts, including MTDRs and DPS accounts.

However, customers who choose to keep their accounts open will continue to receive profits at the predetermined rates in accordance with their agreements. Once the bank’s overall operations resume fully, customers will be able.
