Popular Bangladeshi singer Tasrif Khan has reassured fans that he and his team are safe in Nepal amid reports of flash floods and landslides.
In a social media post, Tasrif clarified that they were not in the area affected by the flash flood. They had been stranded in Ghandruk, a tourist village, after heavy rain caused landslides and strong mountain runoff to wash away roads at several points on their way to Birethanti.
Following their guide’s advice, they stayed there for two more days. When the weather improved, they walked with their guide to Birethanti and then traveled by car to Pokhara.
Tasrif said they were also running short of Nepalese rupees as card payments were unavailable in the rural area.
He urged people not to be misled by headlines, saying, “We are quite safe, and there is nothing much to worry about.”
