The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) warned of temporary gusty weather and rain over seven regions of the country.
The weather office asked river ports in these areas to hoist caution signal number one until 6:00 PM on Monday (August 31).
BMD Assistant Meteorologist Afroza Sultana disclosed the forecast for internal river ports across the country.
The weather office stated that temporary rain or thunder showers accompanied by gusty or squally winds may sweep over seven regions.
Southerly or south-easterly winds with speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour may pass over Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar regions. Rain or thunder showers are also likely in these areas.
Consequently, river ports in these regions were advised to display cautionary signal number one.
In a morning bulletin, the BMD added that light to moderate rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty winds may occur at many places over Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions by Tuesday morning.
A few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions may also experience similar weather.
Additionally, moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places across the country. Day and night temperatures are likely to fall slightly nationwide.
