Gold prices fall sharply in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has made a drastic reduction in the price of gold in the country's market. The price of 22-carat gold jewellery has been decreased to Tk 236,254 after a decrease of Tk 4,474 per bhori. 

The new prices will be effective from 10 AM on Monday (Aug 31).

According to the new prices, the rate of 21-carat gold jewellery is Tk 225,640 per bhori after a decrease of Tk 4,141 while the rate of 18-carat gold has been lowered to Tk 193,739 per bhori after a decrease of Tk 3,616.

On the other hand, the price of traditional method gold has been reduced by Tk 2,916 to Tk 158,280 per bhori.

Before that, the price of 22-carat gold had been decreased to Tk 247,743 per bhori by reducing Tk 7,115 per bhori on Aug 29. Earlier, the price had increased to Tk 221,675 per bhori in three phases of Aug 20, 22 and 25 by increasing Tk 10,964 per bhori.
