A three-day cashless campaign was launched at Baura Market in Patgram Upazila of Lalmonirhat to encourage customers to use 'Bangla QR' codes for transactions.
The Patgram sub-branch of Pubali Bank PLC organized the initiative under the slogan "Transactions are turning cashless, Bangladesh is moving forward."
The event began on Sunday (August 30) afternoon at Baura Market.
Bank officials, customers, and people from various professions took part in a colorful rally to mark the inauguration. The rally paraded through main roads in Baura Market before concluding at the Pubali Bank campaign booth.
Baura Union BNP General Secretary Abu Naser Siddique Sohel, Joint General Secretary Moniruzzaman Mostajir Limon, Organizational Secretary Anisur Rahman Bulu, and prominent businessman Jaminur Rahman attended the inaugural ceremony.
Senior Principal Officer and Patgram Pubali Bank Sub-Branch Manager Akbar Hossain delivered the welcome speech, along with Tapas Kumar Roy, Junior Officer of Pubali Bank's Lalmonirhat branch.
Speakers at the event urged traders and general consumers to adopt Bangla QR codes for digital transactions. They highlighted that increasing digital transactions will accelerate economic activities across the region.
