The deadline for submitting the investigation report in the case over the death of popular film actor Salman Shah has been deferred again.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been given until September 29 to submit its report against 11 accused, including Salman Shah’s former wife Samira Haque.
This marks the ninth extension granted to the investigating agency for filing the report.
The report was scheduled to be submitted on Sunday before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana. However, CID Inspector Ziaul Morshed, the investigation officer in the case, failed to submit it on the scheduled date.
The court subsequently fixed September 29 as the new deadline.
The death of Salman Shah has remained one of the country's most discussed cases for nearly three decades. His death was initially recorded as an unnatural death (UD) case.
