3 motorcyclists killed in Faridpur’s Bhanga road accident

The accident occurred around 8PM in the Naopara area on the Faridpur-Barishal highway, according to highway police and local residents.

The deceased were identified as Chayan Molla, 23, son of Dalil Uddin Molla; Sajib Sheikh, 22, son of Azgar Sheikh; and Nayan Molla, 21, son of Inayet Molla. All three were from Hasnahati village under Laskardi Union in Nagarkanda upazila. Chayan had been living in Saudi Arabia.

Police said the three youths were travelling from Bhanga to their homes in Nagarkanda when an unidentified vehicle struck their motorcycle from behind in the Naopara area. 

Chayan died on the spot.

Local residents and highway police rescued Sajib and Nayan and took them to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex. After receiving initial treatment, they were referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. Sajib died while undergoing treatment.

Nayan, who was riding the motorcycle, was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. He also died while receiving treatment there.

Sub-Inspector Sohel Hossain of Bhanga Highway Police Station said efforts are underway to identify and locate the vehicle involved in the accident.
