Major General Iftikhar-ul-Alam (Retd.) joins MASTUL Foundation as director

Major General Iftikhar-ul-Alam (Retd.) has joined MASTUL Foundation as a director, bringing extensive experience in leadership, administration, strategic management and organisational development.

The foundation recently confirmed his appointment in an official announcement, saying his experience is expected to strengthen its institutional governance, operational efficiency and strategic planning as it expands its humanitarian and social development programmes.

In a statement, Iftikhar-ul-Alam said humanitarian service is a moral responsibility towards society and expressed his commitment to supporting vulnerable and underprivileged communities through collective action, good governance and strong humanitarian values.

Farhana Yeasmeen, Chief Operating Officer of MASTUL Foundation, welcomed the appointment and said the retired major general's experience and strategic guidance would be an important asset to the organisation.

MASTUL Foundation is a non-profit, non-political humanitarian organisation registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau. For more than a decade, it has carried out humanitarian and development initiatives, including emergency relief operations, burial services during the COVID-19 pandemic, tree plantation campaigns, tube-well installation, mosque reconstruction and its “Zakat Self-Reliance” project.

The foundation has also provided humanitarian assistance in Türkiye, Gaza and Sudan and operates a madrasa, shelter home and orphanage in Hazaribagh, Dhaka. Its “Mehmankhana” initiative provides free daily meals in Dhaka.
