A major setback has occurred for the Bangladesh women's cricket team prior to the Asia Cup, as left-arm fast bowler Fariha Islam Trishna has withdrawn from the tour due to injury. Trishna will need four to six weeks to recover from her hamstring injury.
Teenager and right-arm fast bowler Farzana Yasmin will join the national squad for the first time as a replacement.
The Women’s Asia Cup will take place in Dubai between August 28 and September 13. In Group B, the Bangladesh team will play Indonesia on August 31, Sri Lanka on September 6 and host nation UAE on September 8.
The team will fly to Dubai from Dhaka on Wednesday.
