Government reshuffles three secretaries

The government has made changes to the positions of three secretaries.

The Public Administration Ministry announced the changes in separate notifications issued on Friday (August 21).

According to the notifications, Rafiqul I Mohammad has been given a new assignment again. The contractual appointee has been transferred to the post of secretary of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division.

He was transferred to the Public Division of the President’s Office from the Ministry of Agriculture just 11 days ago.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division Mohang Shawkat Rashid Chowdhury has been appointed chairman (secretary) of the Land Reform Board.

A J M Salahuddin Nagri, chairman of the Land Reform Board, has been appointed secretary of the Public Division of the President’s Office.

The latest reshuffle comes shortly after changes were made to the secretary-level positions at the Ministry of Agriculture and the Public Division of the President’s Office on August 10.

At that time, Rafiqul I Mohammad, who had been serving as the contractual secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, was transferred to the Public Division of the President’s Office. Additional Secretary Md Selim Khan was subsequently promoted and appointed secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture.
