Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) must be expanded to advance Bangladesh’s textile sector, stressing innovation, research, and industrial modernisation.

He made the remarks on Saturday while speaking as chief guest at the Fourth International Conference on Textile Science and Engineering held at the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX).

The minister said, “The textile sector is one of the most important sectors in Bangladesh. Bangladesh ranks second in the world in ready-made garment exports.

But there are also various challenges in this sector. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) must be increased for the development of the textile sector.”

He added, “We want to lead the world in the textile sector. For this, research in this field must be increased. In addition, innovative ideas must be added by coming out of the conventional.”
