The capital's iconic Hatirjheel is set to welcome thousands of runners tomorrow morning as the third edition of the international-standard Turaag Active Dhaka 25K 2026 takes place under the slogan "Road to Glory."

Organised by sports management company Run Bangladesh, the marathon is expected to attract around 3,000 participants, including professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts and recreational runners from both Bangladesh and abroad. As dawn breaks over the city, Hatirjheel will transform into a vibrant arena of endurance, determination and community spirit.

Building on the success of its previous editions, this year's event promises improved organisation and enhanced race management. The marathon is an officially recognised member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), while its course has been certified by World Athletics, ensuring participants compete under internationally recognised standards.

The event features three categories: the flagship 25K Feature Race for experienced runners, the 10.3K Run for beginner and intermediate participants, and the 3K Family Fun Run designed to encourage people of all ages to enjoy running together.

Urmi Group Director Faiyaz Rahman said marathons have evolved beyond sport into a social movement that promotes physical fitness, mental resilience and healthier lifestyles, particularly among the younger generation.
