PM leaves for Chandpur

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left Dhaka for Chandpur on Saturday morning. This is his first visit to the district as head of government.

His motorcade started the journey by road from his Gulshan residence at around 8:45AM.

Tarique Rahman is visiting the district after 22 years, creating huge enthusiasm among party leaders and activists.

He is scheduled to address a roadside rally at Laxmipur Bazar ground in Barura upazila of Cumilla at around 11:30AM.

Later, at 12:30 PM, the prime minister will inaugurate the re-excavation work of Khordda Canal at Waruk Bazar area under Tamta Dakkhin union in Chandpur’s Shahrasti upazila.

At around 1:45PM, he will attend and inaugurate the re-excavation work of Bishwo Canal adjacent to Ghosher Hat in Kumardugi village under Shah Mahmudpur union of Chandpur Sadar upazila.

The premier is scheduled to take a short break at the Chandpur Circuit House at 2:30 PM.

At 3:30PM, he will join a family card distribution programme at Chandpur Government College ground.

Later, at 5PM, Tarique Rahman will attend an organisational meeting of Chandpur district BNP at Chandpur Club.

He is expected to conclude the visit at around 6:30PM.
