Farmer killed by lightning in Pabna

A farmer was killed in a lightning strike at Chatmohar upazila of Pabna district on Wednesday. 

The deceased was identified as Robban Ali, 60, of Sahapur village at Mulgram union.

According to local union parishad member Anwar Hossain, the incident occurred around noon on May 13. Robban Ali had gone to a jute field in the neighboring Maheshpur village to clear weeds. When a sudden Nor'wester storm accompanied by thunder and lightning began, he was fatally struck by a bolt of lightning while passing through a lychee orchard in Maheshpur and died on the spot.

Upazila social service officer and union administrator Sohel Rana confirmed the details of the tragic incident.
