Police Headquarters has withdrawn recently appointed Superintendents of Police (SP) for Panchagarh and Feni districts.

The affected officials are-- Panchagarh SP Mizanur Rahman and Feni SP Mohammad Mahbub Alam Khan.

The withdrawal was finalized through two separate orders signed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Hossain Fakir last Saturday.

According to the directives, Mahbub Alam Khan, previously the Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) and newly assigned to Feni, was ordered to report to the Police Headquarters by May 10.

Mizanur Rahman, the SP of Panchagarh, was instructed to hand over his responsibilities to the next senior officer and report to headquarters by the same deadline.

These changes come shortly after a major reshuffle involving the SPs of 12 districts on May 5.

Following Mahbub Alam Khan’s appointment to Feni, significant backlash surfaced on social media regarding his background.

On May 7, a writ petition was filed in High Court challenging his appointment, citing his involvement as an accused in two murder cases.

The petition sought the cancellation of his appointment, his temporary suspension and a neutral investigation into the allegations.
