Three teenagers were killed in an accident when a truck hit a motorcycle at Saturia upazila of Manikganj on Friday.
The accident occurred at Tilli Billpara Bridge area of the upazila.
The deceased have been identified as Alam, Sona Mia and Kalu Mia, all residents of Tilli village. The victims were aged between 15 and 16 years.
According to police and local sources, a concrete-laden truck was heading toward Manikganj and crashed the motorcycle carrying the three teenagers coming from the opposite direction.
Alam died on the spot. The other two, Kalu and Sona Mia, were rescued in critical condition and rushed to Manikganj Medical College Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.
Saturia Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mosharraf Hossain confirmed the incident, stating that police have seized both the truck and the motorcycle.
Legal proceedings regarding the accident are currently underway, he added.
