6 injured in Bhola autorickshaw-pickup van collision

Six individuals were injured in a head-on collision between an autorickshaw and a pickup van in Bhola’s Lalmohan upazila on Monday afternoon.

The injured were identified as Sharif, 20, Rasel, 30, Bashir Ahmed, 45, Kashem, 40, Jantu Poran, 55, and Md Shahid, 40. All are residents of ward no 7 under Badarpur union of the upazila.

According to locals, the incident occurred near the upazila gate area when an autorickshaw carrying passengers from Lalmohan Bazar collided head-on with a gas cylinder-laden pickup van coming from the opposite direction, leaving the vehicle severely damaged.

Later, locals rescued the injured and took them to Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex. Among them, Rasel and Bashir Ahmed were later referred to Bhola General Hospital as their conditions deteriorated.

Lalmohan Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Oliul Islam said police visited the scene after being informed and seized the pickup van.

Legal action is underway.
