Man held over violating girl in Narsingdi

Police have arrested a man in connection with the rape of a young girl at Saner Bari village on Narsingdi’s Palash upazila on Thursday.

The arrested was identified as Hafizur Rahman, son of Abdus Sattar Mia, a resident of Saner Bari village.

According to police, Hafizur, along with another man identified as Arjun Badsha, intercepted the girl on her way to home on Wednesday evening and took her to a banana orchard forcibly and violated the girl in turns.

Following the incident, a case was filed in connection with it.

Based on the case, police conducted a drive and arrested Hafizur on Thursday.

Palash Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Kutubul Alam confirmed the detention and said that police are trying to arrest the other accused.
