A day-long workshop on occupational health and safety for workers in charcoal factories was held in Madaripur. The workshop focused on training and discussions aimed at improving workplace safety and health standards for factory workers.

Organized on April 10 by the Bangladesh Charcoal Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCCMEA) with funding from the Business Promotion Council, the event brought together industry stakeholders and experts.

The association's president, Atikur Rahman, along with other officials and several trainers, attended the workshop. The trainers shared their perspectives on maintaining occupational health and safety while ensuring continued production in factories.

Workers also voiced their concerns and challenges to the authorities concerned. In response, the association's president Atikur Rahman assured that their issues would be addressed promptly. He further sought cooperation from all stakeholders to advance the charcoal industry and expressed hope for active participation in future initiatives.

Channel One reporter Mina Ferdous spoke on occupational health and safety in charcoal factories, while Iron Sultana, Welfare Officer of Ananta Group, delivered an important presentation on charcoal guidelines.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from the association's president. More than 50 participants-including workers, factory owners, and managers from various factories in the Madaripur region-took part in the event.
