3 killed after bus crashes into road divider in Sirajganj

Three individuals were killed and at least 10 others injured after a passenger bus crashed into a road divider in Sirajganj’s Nalka area on Friday morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.

According to police, the incident occurred around 11:30 AM on the highway at the western end of the Jamuna Bridge when a passenger bus heading towards Dhaka lost control after a tyre burst upon reaching the area.

Following the tyre burst, the bus rammed into the road divider and got stuck. Two people died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital and at least ten others were injured in the incident.

Jamuna Bridge West Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Amirul Islam confirmed the incident and said that efforts are underway to recover the bus.
