
Awami League Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim on Saturday called upon the traders and the businesses to invest in livestock, poultry and hatchery sector, in which the government has given much emphasis to meet the growing demand of protein and nutrition from home sources.
"Taking the advantage a huge number of youths have already come forward to invest in this sector. Some of them have already succeeded. Learning this, the new generations are getting interest in investing in this sector," Sheikh Selim said.
In this regard the government has given various incentives, said Sheikh Selim, who is also the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare Ministry, while addressing at the opening of Toyo Feed Limited, a concern of the Dhaka Group, at International Convention Center of Basundhara in Dhaka on the day.
If the investors are serous and interested to develop this sector, Bangladesh would be able to export meat, beef and fish across the world after fulfilling its local demand," he added.
Toy Feed Limited is produces additive free poultry, cattle and fish feed 'DG Feed' in the country. As a result, the feed will not damage public or animal health at all.
Sheikh Selim said the country is now on the highway of development, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. If she was not in power the country would not have achieved as a quick pace of development.
He also urged the politicians to ensure good political environment and militant-free country for its peoples' betterment.
Toyo Feed's Managing Director Abul Kalam Azad chaired the programme while State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda, FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad, South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank Managing Director Rafiqul Islam, BEPZA's former member AKM Mahbubur Rahman and Dhaka Group's Chair Person Sadia Saba also spoke on the occasion.
