Ahead of the upcoming by-election in Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's scheduled visit to Bogura to attend a family card distribution programme has been postponed.

The Bogura district administration confirmed this on Tuesday (March 3).

The Prime Minister was expected to participate in the event on March 10 in Sadar upazila.
District Commissioner Toufiqul Rahman said the family card distribution programme set for March 10 has been deferred.

A new date will be announced later, he added.

In the 13th National Parliamentary Elections, Tareq Rahman was elected as Member of Parliament from both Bogura-6 and Dhaka-17 constituencies. Following constitutional requirements, he relinquished the Bogura-6 seat before taking the oath of office. The Election Commission has scheduled the by-election for the vacant Bogura-6 seat on April 9.
