MV Banglar Joyjatra detained at UAE Port

Authorities of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) are maintaining regular virtual communication with the national-flagged vessel, MV Banglar Joyjatra, currently held at Jebel Ali Port, United Arab Emirates, while transporting steel cargo from Qatar.

To provide necessary assistance to the crew and their families, a dedicated 'Control Cell' has been established at BSC headquarters in Chattogram. According to the corporation, enhanced supplies, including high-quality food and essential items, have been ensured to keep the morale of the crew intact.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is personally monitoring the situation through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, providing guidance and direction as necessary.

In a video message On Monday, Shipping, Road Transport, and Railways Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam expressed deep sympathy for the 31 Bangladeshi seafarers serving on the vessel in international waters. He praised their courage and professionalism in navigating challenging circumstances.

Highlighting the crew's perseverance amid the ongoing crisis, he stated that their dedication, patience, and professional conduct are a source of national pride.

He emphasized that their steadfastness in fulfilling the critical responsibility of contributing to the national economy is highly valued by the government.

The minister also confirmed that communication has already been established with each of the 31 seafarers' families, assuring them of the government's support during this difficult period.
