Bangladesh's experienced wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim, who had been stranded at Jeddah airport due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, has returned home.

Mushfiqur had travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. When he attempted to return to Dhaka via Dubai on February 28, his flight was sent back to Jeddah amid disruptions linked to the regional security situation and flight complications.

He had been staying in Saudi Arabia since then as uncertainty over flight operations persisted.

The stalemate ended late Sunday night when the cricketer shared a social media post confirming that he was on his way back to Bangladesh. He arrived in Dhaka on Monday.

Earlier, Mushfiqur spoke with State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque, who assured him of assistance in ensuring his safe return.
