The High Court (HC) Election Tribunal has ordered the seizure of all ballot papers, result sheets and related documents from four parliamentary constituencies following complaints of election irregularities.

The directive covers Dhaka-6, Dhaka-7 and Gaibandha-4, where BNP candidates emerged victorious, in response to allegations of rigging by Jamaat-e-Islami.

Additionally, documents from Sherpur-1, won by a Jamaat candidate, were also ordered to be seized following a complaint by BNP.

Justice Md Zakir Hossain issued the orders. The petitions were filed by defeated candidates requesting a recount of votes.

The Election Tribunal was formed by the Supreme Court on February 19 to handle election-related grievances and ensure transparency in the electoral process.
